“My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me” (John 10:27). Some Christians often find it difficult to discern the voice of the Spirit. This is not because His voice is weak when He speaks; rather, it’s because their spirits aren’t trained to discern His voice. “So how do I train my spirit to discern the voice of the Holy Spirit?” you might ask. Simple, first, you must develop a voracious appetite for the Word. Study the Word and know it for yourself. The voice of God’s Spirit is made known to you through the written Word. Secondly, praying in the Spirit. Prayer helps to condition your spirit to become a dependable receptacle of God’s ideas, visions and promptings. So, how you pray, what you pray about, and the content of your prayer, on the basis of the Word, determine how sensitive your spirit will be to His voice. Spend quality time in fellowship with your heavenly Father through praying in other tongues. This will not only refresh you, but also cause you to

“Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you” (Luke 10:19) As a child of God, your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost (1 Corinthians 6:19), which means your body isn’t yours; it’s owned by God. However, you’re the one who has charge over your body, to keep it in health. You’re to exercise authority over it, keeping it free of sickness, disease and infirmity. The Lord Jesus’ Words in our opening verse should let you know that you’re not ordinary. Also, He said in Mark 11:23, that you shall have what you say. This means, you have the right to tell your body how it should feel, and it’ll respond. If you’ve been struggling with an addiction, declare with boldness, “I’m not going to let anything dominate me. I keep my body in subjection to the Word of God!” Don’t permit in your body anything that’s not consistent with God’s provision of health, as shown to us in the Word; take charge

Some time ago, someone said to me “I’ve been speaking in tongues for years now, and just recently, it feels as though the tongues don’t come out as freely as I’d want them to. How do I increase my vocabulary in other tongues?” Firstly, your vocabulary in tongues can increase while you’re inspired in prayer. Also, it happens while you’re listening to the Word of God and are inspired in your spirit. At such times, new tongues will whirl up in you, and it’s important that you let yourself go and speak those new tongues, even if you have to do so under your voice. That way, your spirit will pick them, for they’re given to you by the Spirit to enrich your heavenly vocabulary. Then also, your vocabulary in other tongues can be increased while you’re meditating on the Word. This time, you may not necessarily be listening to the Word being preached or taught. You may not even be praying at the time, but you’re in deep meditation, and whilst listening within your spirit, new words of the

Revelation 1:6 shows us that God has made us kings and priests. And one of the characteristics peculiar to Kings is the power to decree. As God’s king-priests, we have been put into office to decree anything we want to see established in our lives and in the lives of men, for “where the word of a king is, there is power…” (Ecclesiastes 8:4). The Church wields so much power that many Christians are yet to discover. As kings, we’ve been called into the life of the supernatural; we have more than enough power to do whatever we want to do. The Bible describes those who are born again as a chosen breed; a chosen species; a new type of people God’s dream people. The Bible described us as “a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvelous light”(1 Peter 2:9) Now, we are God’s dream fulfilled, and we didn’t have to sweat or struggle for it. We didn’t beg for it or do anything by ourselves to earn it; the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ conferred it on us. We got it by inheritance! In our opening scripture, when God described the new creation as a chosen generation, He meant that he belongs to a new generation of supermen with the divine genetic material! Someone once asked me if it was possible for Satan to place a hindrance on the path of someone who’s born again and filled with the Holy Spirit. Emphatically yes, but that doesn’t mean anything! “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved” (Romans 10:9) The word “confess” in the scripture above means “to speak the same things in consent with God.” It’s derived from the Greek word “Homologia” which means speaking the same thing in consent. That’s means you’re saying the same things in agreement with God; you’re saying what God has said. That’s true confession. Learn to declare with your mouth the same things God has said concerning you in His Word. No wonder the Bible says, “…He hath said… so that we might boldly say…” (Hebrews 13:5-6). Create the habit of studying and learning God’s Word, for that’s how you’ll know what God has said about you, and then speak accordingly. It’s a vital force which enables you to respond with absolute submissiveness to the Lordship of Jesus Christ, through the Word of God. It’s often expressed in action by the willingness to take on the responsibility of service to others, in loyalty to the Word. The Lord Jesus lived a practical example of what true humility is. It has been proven that human abilities have limitations. But thank God for what Christ came to do so we could live above this natural limitation by man. When Jesus died, the Bible says through that death, He paralyzed him that had the power of death, that is, the devil (Hebrews 2:14). Thereafter, He rose triumphantly from the grave. This is the life to which you’ve been called, where nothing can hinder or place limits on you. According to the Bible, you received this life when you were born again. Now that you have this life in you, refuse to function according to your natural human abilities and take up God’s limitless power that’s been deposited in your spirit! Traffic control officer changes the fate of accident victim with the Rhapsody of Realities. Laodiassando E.
