RHAPSODY OF REALITIES DAILY DEVOTIONAL. FOLLOW THE WORD - PASTOR CHRIS OYAKHILOME. SUNDAY, JUNE 5TH 2016.

Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed (John 8:31). Someone may say, “I’m following Jesus Christ.” But really, how do you follow Jesus? You follow Him in the Word, through the Word, and by the Word. The proof that you’re following Him is in doing His Word; living by the Word. He said, “If you love me, keep my words” (John 14:15). Jesus and the Word are one. Therefore, to love Him is to be quick to do the Word at all times. There’re people who say, “I’ll do whatever God tells me to do, if I hear His voice.” What such people don’t realize is that God already said all He needed to say to His children, through the written Word—the Bible. If you want to hear His voice today, study the Word. That’s the voice of the Father, the voice of Jesus, and the voice of the Holy Spirit. If you don’t act upon, or live by the written Word, even if God spoke to you from heaven, it won’t make much difference; you still won’t

SELF-SUFFICIENT AND INDEPENDENT

“And God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work” (2 Corinthians 9:8) The Greek word translated “sufficiency” above is “auterkeia” from where we get the English word “autarchy” which means “an economic system of self-sufficiency, and economic independence as a national policy.” So the idea the Word of God communicates to us from the scripture is that God has given us a life of “economic independence and self-sufficiency,” as well as the grace to live that life. This means you have the ability to live completely independent of the economy in the country where you live. Therefore it doesn’t matter if there’s inflation; God has given you the ability to live beyond inflation and grow bigger than the economy. You have self-sustaining prosperity! This is exactly the way God is, and He has given us the same kind of life. By understanding this truth, prosperity becomes your way of life; y

YOU DON’T HAVE TO PRAY FOR YOUR NEEDS

“But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus” (Philippians 4:19). When the Apostle Paul, in his letter to the Philippian Church, said, “…my God shall supply all you need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus” he wasn’t making a promise to the Church on God’s behalf. Rather, he had come to know God’s way of doing things – that He supplies not just some but all our needs! This means you don’t have to pray about your needs! By that I mean you don’t need to pray, “Oh God, I need this, or I need that,” for the Word already declares that He shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus. This means your needs are automatically entered into God’s supply system. Therefore, when you recognize a need, what you ought to do is declare, “I live in super abundance. My needs are supplied in abundance, according to God’s riches in glory by Christ Jesus.” Hallelujah!

RHAPSODY OF REALITIES DAILY DEVOTIONAL. LET HIM TAKE CHARGE OF YOUR LIFE - PASTOR CHRIS OYAKHILOME. SATURDAY, JUNE 4TH 2016.

But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all  Judea , and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth (Acts 1:8). There’re people who, as much as they desire to serve God with their lives, find themselves struggling with several things that eventually get them miserable in life. The reason for this is clear: it’s either they don’t have the Holy Spirit, or they’re not yielded to Him. If indeed they’ve received Him to live in them, He’s not in charge of their lives. No one can successfully live the Christian life without the Holy Spirit. He’s the One that brings the power of God into your life to strengthen you, and for you to live effectively as a Christian. He teaches you the Word, so you can know God’s perfect will, and then guides you to live in, and  fulfill , your destiny in Christ. With the Holy Spirit, your potentials are limitless. His presence in your life makes you ener

READ RHAPSODY OF REALITIES DAILY DEVOTIONAL. HE REIGNS THROUGH YOU - PASTOR CHRIS OYAKHILOME. FRIDAY, 3RD JUNE, 2016.

For if by one man’s offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ (Romans 5:17). You were born, predestined, and assigned to reign in this life. Revelation 5:10 says Christ has made us“…kings and priests: and we shall reign on the earth.” Then interestingly, in 1 Corinthians 15:25, we read that “…he must reign, till he hath put all enemies under his feet.” Jesus isn’t physically present in the earth today, yet He’s reigning through those who “receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness.” The only way He reigns is when we reign through righteousness. The understanding of the doctrine of righteousness makes us masters in life. It gives you the sense of dominion, such that nothing moves you; you’re in charge, and in control of circumstances. You make things happen! Righteousness is God’s nature, and that nature was imparted to you when you were born again

READ YOUR RHAPSODY OF REALITIES DAILY DEVOTIONAL. APPRECIATE WHO YOU ARE - PASTOR CHRIS OYAKHILOME PHD. THURSDAY JUNE 2ND, 2016.

That the communication of thy faith may become effectual by the acknowledging of every good thing which is in you in Christ Jesus (Philemon 1:6). As a new creation in Christ Jesus, you’re peculiar; you’re the first and the best of God’s creatures: “Of his own will begat he us with the word of truth, that we should be a kind of firstfruits of his creatures” (James 1:18). You’re the crowning beauty, and the highest of everything God made. You’re His excellently crafted masterpiece (Ephesians 2:10). Psalm 139:14 says you’re exceptional, and wonderfully made; you’re God’s marvelous work of art; and the Psalmist said, “My soul knows this very well!” You should know it too and be conscious that you’re God’s best. Therefore, love and enjoy yourself. Appreciate who you are. Don’t wish you were someone else. There’re so many good things inside you. You’re a pearl of great value. If you don’t love yourself, you can’t really love anyone else. Don’t wait for others to compliment you; stan

RHAPSODY OF REALITIES DAILY DEVOTIONAL. SERVING IN NEWNESS OF SPIRIT - PASTOR CHRIS OYAKHILOME PHD. WEDNESDAY, JUNE 1ST 2016.

For when we were in the flesh, the motions of sins, which were by the law, did work in our members to bring forth fruit unto death. But now we are delivered from the law, that being dead wherein we were held; that WE SHOULD SERVE IN NEWNESS OF SPIRIT, and not in the oldness of the letter (Romans 7:5-6). Our opening scripture is part of Apostle Paul’s letter to the church in Rome, where he admonished them to serve God in newness of spirit, and not according to the old ways of the flesh. To serve God in newness of spirit means to serve Him in your present state as one who’s been recreated in righteousness and true holiness, and not according to the Law or the senses. This brings us to an understanding of what he (Paul)said in 2 Corinthians 5:17 that if any man be in Christ, he is a new creation; old things—the old life of the flesh and everything associated with it—are now passed away, and all things have become new. Being born again, you have a newness of life; a Spirit-filled, Spi

DOMINATE YOUR WORLD

“And hath made us kings and priests unto God and his Father; to him be glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen.” (Revelation 1:6). In Revelation 5:10, the Bible says God has made us “…kings and priests: and we shall reign on the earth.” This is powerful! To understand what God had in mind when He made us Kings, let’s observe something striking about the first man, Adam. The Bible says God made Adam in His own image and likeness – to look and function like Him. Have you ever wondered how God functions? He is the great God of glory; the King of kings. By His words, He created the entire universe, and in Genesis 1:26-28, we read that He made the first man Adam, to be a King just like Himself, to reign and subdue everything in the earth. We’ve been given great authority to dominate our world. We can subdue systems, ideas, laws, and traditions that are contrary to the Gospel, and establish God’s will in the earth. As Kings, we can decree a thing and have it established unto us. “Where

BE INSPIRED TO SERVE

Whosoever will be great among you, let him be your minister; And whosoever will be chief among you, let him be your servant (Matthew 20:26-27). The responsibility of service is the key to greatness! The opening scripture underscores this truth; the word “minister” is from the Greek word “diakonos” and it means a servant, or an attendant, one who serves or runs errands for others.  As Christians, we’ve been called to service; both of God and of mankind. God is mindful and concerned about people more than anything else. So, when you’re concerned about serving people through your work, the Lord will be mindful of your success and prosperity; He’ll cause everything you do to prosper. The Bible says there’s profit in all labour (Proverbs 14:23). Therefore, it doesn’t matter the job or business you do, when your goal is to render quality service, your greatness will be inevitable. But greed has stopped many from being service-conscious as they should. Don’t let the desire to have be you

THE TIME IS NOW

“No soldier when in service gets entangled in the enterprises of [civilian] life; his aim is to satisfy and please the one who enlisted him” (2 Timothy 2:5 AMP).  We’re soldiers for Christ and we can’t involve ourselves in civilian affairs and please God at the same time. We must stand as soldiers upon this earth doing our Father’s job. As long as you do your Father’s job, you will be happy. But when you don’t, there will be a lack of warmth and joy in your life.  It doesn’t matter how rich you are, or how many friends you have, you can never really be happy except you do the job of your Father; and that’s bringing God’s Word alive to people around you, touching them with the Word of God and winning souls into His Kingdom. It’s high time we got uncomfortable ignoring sinners around us and coming to church to warm our pews. Let’s reach them with the gospel; let’s reach them with the life of God in us! It’s time we got excited and went about our Father’s business! You must make up you

YOUR TESTIMONIES AND YOUR FAITH-WALK

For we walk by faith, not by sight  (2 Corinthians 5:7) The walk of faith is the lifestyle of every Christian. The earlier you realize this, the better for you. The reason is that you’ll be confronted with several challenges along your path. Amidst these, your testimony must remain consistent with what God has said. The Bible says, And being not weak in faith, he (Abraham) considered not his own body now dead, when he was about an hundred years old, neither yet the deadness of Sarah’s womb. He staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving glory to God  (Romans 4:19-20) .   People laughed at and made mockery of Abraham, yet, he kept testifying that God has made him the father of many nations and his wife, Sarah, mother of princes. At the end, his tongue-work produced for him a son just as the Lord had said. Moreover, the Bible says, And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not thei

YOU’RE A KING; SAY THE WORD

And hast made us unto our God kings and priests: and we shall reign on the earth  (Revelation 5:10) Jesus said in  Matthew 18:18  “Whatsoever ye shall bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever ye shall loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.” Here, Jesus didn’t mean that as you bind something on earth, God does the same thing in heaven. No. He meant that when you bind something on earth, you’re making a decree, and that decree is upheld by God in heaven.   God has made us kings,  (Revelation 5:10) , and the Bible says in  Ecclesiastes 8:4 , “Where the word of a king is, there is power.” As God’s words carry and transmit power, your words also have in them creative ability to produce for you a harvest of what you say. Sadly, not many Christians have operated in this power; some have only been used to religious Christianity, where they beg God for everything.   You’re a king, and kings don’t beg; they make decrees.  Job 22:28  says, “Thou shalt also decree a th

FAITH AND CORRESPONDING ACTIONS

“ Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble. But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead ?” (James 2:19-20). Many people mistake believing for faith; but believing is not faith, and faith is not believing. When you receive God’s Word into your heart and believe what it says, that’s just the first step; there must be corresponding action to your believing. Romans 10:10 says, “For wi th the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.” So, when you heard the Gospel and were convinced in your heart to believe Jesus died for you, you were made right with God. But that didn’t suffice for your salvation; there had to be the corresponding action of confessing the Lordship of Jesus over your life! It was that confession that catapulted you into salvation. Hallelujah! This principle is the same for every other aspect of your life as a Christian. You must not stop at me

PARTAKERS OF A GLORIOUS INHERITANCE

“ Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light ” (Colossians 1:12). Do you realize your own good works or your own righteousness couldn’t qualify you for the blessing of God? Our opening verse of scripture expresses this as it says, God “hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light.” God the Father did this for us, in spite of ourselves. God in His infinite mercy and kindness qualified you for the good life. How exciting to realize that you don’t have to strive to be good enough for God. There’s no need to strive and work to merit His blessings, for it’s by His grace. His righteousness is your qualification to be a partaker of the glorious inheritance He’s prepared for the saints. Thus, all the glorious and precious promises in the Word that have come to us through Christ are your present hour possession. Prosperity, healing and health, success, spiritual advancement and everything

READ YOUR RHAPSODY OF REALITIES DAILY DEVOTIONAL. BE ABOUT HIS WORK - PASTOR CHRIS OYAKHILOME PHD. TUESDAY, MAY 31ST, 2016.

...This same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven (Acts 1:11). More than ever, you must take your participation and involvement in the things of God very seriously. Commit yourself to God's vision. His vision is soul winning; He wants the whole earth to be filled with the knowledge of His glory as the waters cover the sea. Hence, everything you do must be geared towards winning souls for Jesus Christ; it's your calling. Stay focused and committed to it. Make no mistakes, He's coming back again, and He needs to find you busy, doing what He told you to do. He said to His disciples, "If ye love me, keep my commandments" (John 14:15). If you truly love Him, do His will; live for Him. Don't let your life be conditioned to this earth. Let Him come and find you doing what He's called you to do. You may ask, "How soon is He coming?" Very soon! It doesn't matter if it&#

FELLOWSHIP OF THE GOD-KIND

“That which we have seen and heard declare we unto you, that ye also may have fellowship with us: and truly our fellowship is with the Father, and with his Son Jesus Christ” (1 John 1:3). The new creation has been called into a vital fellowship of the God-kind; it’s a partnership and togetherness with Deity; a oneness of spirit–an inseparable union–with divinity. To have real fellowship with God you’ve got to be in His class of being. 2 Peter 1:4 says we’re partakers of the divine nature; it means were associates, comrades or fellows with Deity. Now, it’s not enough to be born of God, you need to mature in fellowship. For example, you can have a son who’s still a toddler, and though you can play with that child, you can’t have real fellowship with him. Real fellowship entails the rubbing of minds–sharing and talking at high levels- where you can understand each other and exchange thoughts. This is the kind of fellowship God has called us into; it’s beyond making reque

YOU ARE OF THE GOD-KIND

“…Ye are gods; and all of you are children of the most High” (Psalms 82:6) The ancient Greek and Roman societies had pantheons to which they often held their devotions. The Bible however tells us of another pantheon, an assembly of gods, headed by the Lord Jesus Christ. The Apostle Peter talked about in it 2 Peter 1:4: “Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.” The phrase “partakers of the divine nature” indicates that as believers in Christ, we’re in fraternal union with divinity! We’re comrades, associates or fellows with divinity.

SPIRIT-TO-SPIRIT COMMUNICATION

“I will bless the LORD, who hath given me counsel: my reins also instruct me in the night seasons” (Psalm 16:7). In our opening scripture, David talks about his “reins” instructing him in the night seasons. This refers to the human spirit. He reveals the importance of listening to God’s instructions from within. The Apostle Paul calls the human spirit the “inward man” (2 Corinthians 4:16), while Peter describes him as the hidden man of the heart (1 Peter 3:4). This is because the human spirit is not visible to the physical eyes. The Bible says in John 4:24 “God is a Spirit…” hence, we can only make contact with Him through our spirits. When He wants to communicate with you, He does so directly with your spirit, not your head or your mind; it’s a Spirit-to-spirit communication. This is also the kind of communication that takes place when you pray in the spirit–in other tongues; it’s a God-ward communication. Your spirit makes direct contact with God’s Spirit: “For he that spea
