READ YOUR RHAPSODY OF REALITIES DAILY DEVOTIONAL DON’T COMPLAIN… ACT ON THE WORD - PASTOR CHRIS OYAKHILOME THURSDAY 26TH, OCTOBER 2016

Be careful for nothing; but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God (Philippians 4:6). Oftentimes, you’ll find certain people whose everyday life is filled with pain, discouragement and defeat. You’d expect such folks to be quick to accept help at the slightest opportunity; but they’d rather gripe and whine about the difficulties they’re going through. We find a typical example with a certain man Jesus encountered at the pool of Bethesda. He had suffered a paralytic condition for thirty-eight long years. Though Jesus knew the man had been sick for so long, He still asked him, “Do you want to get well?” The man didn’t answer the question, but got defensive and started complaining about how he had been abandoned by everyone, with no one to help him into the pool every time the angel stirred the water. He didn’t ask Jesus for help either; he ignored the important question and griped about the situation. That’s the way so...

STAND YOUR GROUND

“ Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the Lord thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest ” (Joshua 1:9). Irrespective of the challenges that may come your way in life, you must learn to stand your ground in faith. Never allow what you hear, or see with your physical eyes cause you to lose heart and start voicing fear; stand your ground and keep talking your way to victory. When the enemy seeks to put fear in your heart by bombarding your mind with negative thoughts, refuse to fear, counter those thoughts with words of faith! Do what Caleb and Joshua did; out of the twelve spies Moses sent to spy out Canaan, only the two of them stood their ground in faith. They said concerning the giants “ they are bread for us: their defence is departed from them, and the Lord is with us: fear them not ” (Numbers 14:9). That’s the voice of faith, and faith is what gives you the victory! (1 John 5:4) In Mark 9:23 Jesus said, ...

GET THE MASTER’S ATTENTION!

“For whosoever shall call upon the Name of the Lord shall be saved” (Romans10:13). When the Bible uses the term ‘whosoever,’ it means anybody! Anybody can call on the Name of the Lord and receive a miracle, but it must be a call of faith. God has great respect for faith. There’s no discrimination with Him; all you need do to receive a miracle is to make the call of faith. Reliving the lessons learned in the story of blind Bartimaeus, the Bible says, when he heard that Jesus Christ of Nazareth was passing by, he cried out to Jesus. And when it seemed as though he hadn’t caught the Lord’s attention, he cried out the more. He yelled out loud until the Lord couldn’t resist his call of faith and commanded him to be brought forward. How wonderful! You may have been calling out to the Lord for help and it seems as though He is yet to respond. It’s time to cry out the more, a great deal like blind Bartimaeus! Don’t keep quiet. Let your faith concerning that new job you have belie...

READ YOUR RHAPSODY OF REALITIES DAILY DEVOTIONAL. FAITH IN THE WORD - PASTOR CHRIS OYAKHILOME . WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 3RD 2016.

And Jesus said unto them…If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you (Matthew 17:20). Have you ever heard someone say, “I have faith in the Bible?” That doesn’t really make any spiritual sense. You can have faith that the Bible is true, and that it contains the Word of God, but to have faith that it’ll protect you if you place it under your pillow at night won’t work. Don’t rest your faith on “the Bible,” but in the Word of God contained therein. Remember, we observed in our last study that the Bible is the testimony of God, but it contains the words of men, Satan, demons, and even a donkey. So to have faith in the Bible in that generic sense isn’t what works. Your faith has to be in God’s Word, and by that, faith requires to be definite and directed. True faith originates from God’s specific Word; and that’s what produces results. The “logos” of God is...

YOU CAN’T BE A FOOL FOR FAITH

“And being not weak in faith, he considered not his own body now dead, when he was about an hundred years old, neither yet the deadness of Sara’s womb: He staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving glory to God” (Romans 4:19-20) Picture Abraham, a ninety nine year old man, with a wife, Sarah, who was past the age of menopause, going about telling everyone in town they’re expecting to have a child. To the spiritually unlearned, they must have appeared silly and senile.  But Abraham disregarded all contrary situations and was strong in faith! He had seen in the spirit the son that was promised, and that picture was more real than his old frail body and that of his wife. He maintained his confession and sure enough, Isaac was born. This proves you can never be a fool for faith! Whenever you take steps of faith in God and His eternal Word, your actions will certainly pay off. Faith is the title-deed of unseen realities (Hebrews 11:1). It ...
