PRAYER WITHOUT DISTRACTION

#hspc #healingtothenations It's 24 hours to go! Register NOW for #HSPC @ http://goo.gl/rZnon9   Share, Share and Re-share.....  “Elijah went up to the top of Carmel; and he cast himself down upon the earth, and put his face between his knees” (1 Kings 18: 42 (KJV) One of the reasons some Christians don’t experience the manifestation of God’s glory in their lives as they should is that they often treat their time of fellowship with the Lord casually. Their minds being full of distractions are unable to concentrate and hear what God has to say! In James 5:16, the Bible says, “The earnest (heartfelt, continued) prayer of a righteous man make tremendous power available [dynamic in its working]’’ (James 5:16 AMP). The prayer is earnest and heartfelt, devoid of external influences or distractions. Prayer isn’t a time of religious monologue, where you just talk and talk, until your mind wanders away. It’s a time of fellowship where your spirit mingles with the Holy Spirit;...

THERE’RE HIGHER PURPOSES OF PRAYER - PASTOR CHRIS OYAKHILOME

#hspc #healingtothenations It's 2 days to go! Register NOW for #HSPC @ http://goo.gl/rZnon9  Share, Share and Re-share..... Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints (Ephesians 6:18). Our theme verse is quite profound. The Amplified translation makes it clearer; it says, “Pray at all times (on every occasion, in every season) in the Spirit, with all [manner of] prayer and entreaty….” Prayer is very important. Oftentimes, when we talk about prayer, what comes to people’s mind is asking God for things, making entreaties and requests; that’s all they’ve known about prayer. Yes, such a prayer has its place, where you make requests, but prayer has higher purposes than asking God for your needs . Praying for material needs, that is, asking God for something for yourself is actually the lowest kind of prayer. When you pray like that, you’re praying at the babyhood stage; it’s the pr...

YOU DON’T NEED AN INTERMEDIARY

“And in that day ye shall ask me nothing. Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall ask the Father in my name, he will give it you” (John 16:23) As a Christian, a proper understanding of your relationship with the Father is vital for your communication with Him through prayer. When you pray, you don’t need an intermediary between you and the Father. This means, praying through Jesus is wrong. Rather, the Bible says to pray in the Name of Jesus, this means you are standing in His place; you’ve become His voice! Also, as Christians, we don’t ask the Father to grant our requests for “Jesus’ sake,” for God wouldn’t answer your prayers for Jesus’ sake. He loves you as much as He loves Jesus (John 17:23). So when you pray to the Father in the Name of Jesus, it’s as though Jesus Himself were praying, because you stand in His stead. The Bible says in Philippians 2:9, that “…God also hath highly exalted him (Jesus), and given him a name which is above every name.” In other wor...

MAKE POWER AVAILABLE

“The earnest (heartfelt, continued) prayer of a righteous man makes tremendous power available [dynamic in its working]” James 5:16 AMP Have you ever carefully considered the fact that there’s enough power in you to turn any situation around in your favor? You can change anything because the divine power necessary to cause that change is already inside you; it was deposited in you the moment you received the Holy Spirit into your life: “But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you…” (Acts 1:8) The word “power” here, refers to the dynamic ability to cause changes. However, the presence of this power alone doesn’t guarantee its availability. “So how do I make power available?” You may ask. The answer is in James 5:16 AMP: “…The earnest (heartfelt, continued) prayer of a righteous man makes tremendous power available…” Jesus referred to this kind of prayer in Matthew 6:6. It’s done with so much passion and emotion, and for that reason you may have to s...

BUILD ON A FIRM FOUNDATION

In architecture, the higher you want to build a house, the deeper the foundation has to be. The great buildings we see all over the world, were not built in a hurry or carelessly. The Lord Jesus highlights this same principle in Matthew 7:24 -25, which states thus;“Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which buildeth his house upon a rock: and the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock.” The foundation of a man’s life, determines how successful he will be in life. This simple, yet powerful principle, underscores the importance of the right foundation for the structure you want to build. It is applicable to whatever you want to build in life; it may be your career, business, finances, family and relationships. The reason for the problem inherent in some people’s lives is the absence of a deep and firm foundation; and that is th...

GREATNESS IS IN YOUR SPIRIT

And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing (Genesis 12:2). From the scripture above, we notice that it was God who spoke to Abraham and said, “I will make you great”; it wasn’t Abraham who cried out, “O Lord, make me great!” It was God’s choice to make him great, and from that point on, the man did great things. He defeated five kings and their armies with three hundred servants trained in his house (Genesis 14). His wealth and influence outweighed those of the nations where he dwelt. He was a force to be reckoned with by kings of nations around him because of how great he was. The Bible says, “If ye be Christ’s, then are ye Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise” (Galatians 3:29). If you’re born again, you’re the seed of Abraham; the seed of greatness is in your spirit. Therefore, you ought to do great things. Great people do great things. When the seed of greatness is in a man, he’ll undoubted...
