The LORD is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear...(Psalm 27:1). David was a remarkable and extraordinary prophet of God, and he wrote the Psalm above. He said, “The LORD is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear...” (Psalm 27:1). This is different from “The Lord gives me light.” What David is saying here is, if the Lord is your salvation, that means you’re in salvation. In other words, no matter where you go, you’re already saved from every trouble. For instance, the Bible says, “The name of the LORD is a strong tower: the righteous runneth into it, and is safe” (Proverbs 18:10). So, if you’re in that tower, you’re safe; that’s what the Name of the Lord is. Which means, if you call the Name of the Lord, you’re in that tower; you’re in safety. Praise God! If the Lord is your salvation, you have nothing to fear. That means you’ll not need to call on Him to save you from trouble, because already, He’s your salvation.
