Jesus answered, Thou sayest that I am a king. To this end was I born, and for this cause came I into the world... (John 18:37). The Bible tells us how God appeared to Abraham when he was ninety years old, and blessed him. He said to him, "And I will make thee exceeding fruitful, and I will make nations of thee, and kings shall come out of thee" (Genesis 17:6). Some Bible translations say, "...some kings will come out of thee," but that's wrong. God wasn't thinking about the kings of Israel and Judah that would reign over His people; He was talking about a generation that'd be born as kings. In the following verse, the Lord said, "And I will establish my covenant between me and thee and thy seed after thee in their generations for an everlasting covenant, to be a God unto thee, and to thy seed after thee."
