The human spirit or person is influenced by three important factors: principles, relationships, and actions. These three control your plans, purposes, and pursuits in life. A principle is a moral rule, belief or an assumption that controls, influences or explains personal conduct or the behavior of a society. It explains how or why something works or happens the way it does. It’s also a basic theory or truth; an idea that forms the basis for anything. Individuals, families, and even societies can have their own principles, which they created consciously or unconsciously for themselves. These are principles they formed through certain beliefs, ideas, and assumptions in their heads. There’re certain people who, for example, say that they don’t believe in God; they’re living according to a particular principle or thought; an idea in their minds. Now, whether that idea i

Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God. He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love (1 John 4:7- 8). Love is the totality of God’s nature. This is beyond someone having love in his heart or the ability to love; it means that He’s love personified. God is love! And because He’s love, He doesn’t have the capacity to hate; it’s not possible for God to hate. Hate is of the darkness. God is light, and in Him, there’s no darkness at all (1 John 1:5). The Bible says, “Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning” (James 1:17). Someone may reference Romans 9:13 and ask, But didn’t God say, “...Jacob have I loved, but Esau have I hated?” (Read Malachi 1:2-3). This is where understanding the place of poetry and prophecy, and the dichotomy of expression in the Scriptures come in. The language of the Proph

 “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen” (Hebrews 11:1). The Scripture above is the best definition of faith you can get. Faith is the substance of your hope; it’s the tangible expression of your hope. The Bible tells us of Abraham, who ’’being not weak in faith, considered not his own body now dead, when he was about a hundred years old, neither yet the deadness of Sara’s womb: He staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving glory to God’’ (Romans 4:19-20). Abraham tangibly expressed his hope by giving praise to God; he didn’t allow his physical condition to discourage him. If there’s no substance or tangible expression to your hope, then there is no faith. Faith is the evidence–the title deed–of things not seen. A title deed is a legal document proving your right to a property; it maybe a piece of land or a house. This document authenticates your claim to the property. In the same way, the Word
