THE GRACE TO EXCEL

Every Christian has the grace to excel in everything. God is able to direct all the grace you require for anything in this life towards you, such that you’re never behind in competence or ability. The Bible says in 2 Corinthians 9:8 that ’’And God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work…’’. You’re qualified for any task; that’s what it means to have “all sufficiency in all things”; it means you have all the competencies and special skills required for excellence in every good work. The word translated “sufficiency,” in this context, is the Greek “autarkeia,” which means competence. This indicates a state of self-sufficiency whereby you require no aid or support. God has given you a life that makes you so competent that you don’t require any help! This can work vitally in your life. You can be sufficient in all things; competent in all things. You can be competent in your job, family, academics ...

LAVISHLY EXPRESS GRATITUDE

“In everything give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you” (1 Thessalonians 5:18) The words “thank you” are two very powerful words that convey heartfelt appreciation and gratefulness which when rightly expressed, leave an indelible impression of your sincere gratitude in the hearts of the recipients. Sadly, some people find it difficult to say “thank you” even when the occasion warrants it. As a Christian, it matters that you express gratitude and manifest a grateful spirit at all times. God’s expects you to have an attitude of gratitude; therefore you should always be quick to say “thank you.” When others do things for you, whether it’s a favor or something they’re obliged to do, always remember to thank them for it. Train yourself to lavishly express gratitude. Let that joyful atmosphere of thanksgiving always fill your home! There’s so much in life to be grateful for, so practice being thankful. Thank God specially every day for all He’s done fo...

THE POWER OF PRAISE

Our God is great and greatly to be praised. He delights in our praises. As new creations we’re those He has sanctified and separated unto Himself to worship Him: “For we are the circumcision, which worship God in the spirit, and rejoice in Christ Jesus, and have no confidence in the flesh” (Philippians 3:3). Irrespective of the circumstances around us; whether or not we feel like it, the praise of God is continually in our mouths. How important it is for you to learn to praise the Lord in spite of adversity. When you sing the Lord’s praise, His glory is revealed, not only in your life, but also to your environment (Judges 5:1-7). In 2 Chronicles 20:1-22 for example, the nation of Judah had been surrounded by the armies of three nations, determined to destroy them and take over their land. But Jehoshaphat, king of Judah, was a wise king. He called together all the people of Judah and proclaimed a fast. As they fasted and prayed, the Lord gave them the strategy for battle. On the d...

DREAM BIG! - PASTOR CHRIS OYAKHILOME

Enlarge the place of thy tent, and let them stretch forth the curtains of thine habitations: spare not, lengthen thy cords, and strengthen thy stakes; For thou shalt break forth on the right hand and on the left; and thy seed shall inherit the Gentiles, and make the desolate cities to be (Isaiah 54:2-3). It’s time for you to dream big. It’s a decision you must make. Have big dreams for your finances, family, job or business. Your hour has come and nothing has been trained well enough to stop you! Romans 4:17 says God calls things that be not as though they were. That’s the past tense of God’s Word. That’s God’s language and it should become your language too. Don’t speak according to what you see or according to what has happened. Don’t speak according to your feelings or according to circumstances. Speak according to what you want to see. Let that become your lifestyle. Dream big, then start calling things that be not as though they were. Your Father is VERY big. Say to yourself...

POSITIONED FOR GLORY

“According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue” (2 Peter 1:3 - 4). God has positioned you for a life of glory, and to live that transcendent glory-life He has called and positioned you for, your outlook on life must be from the perspective of His Word. You must live in the light of His Word and cease to observe situations like an ordinary man. God has already done all that’s necessary for you to experience His glory here in the earth. But sadly, many Christians still make the mistake of waiting for Him to do something about their situation. Some even say they’re waiting for Him to take them to the Promised Land – that good and prosperous place, flowing with milk and honey. What such folks haven’t realized is that in the mind of God they’re already in the Promised Land! They got there the moment they were born again. In other words, they are already positi...

YOUR TESTIMONIES AND YOUR FAITH-WALK

For we walk by faith, not by sight (2 Corinthians 5:7) The walk of faith is the lifestyle of every Christian. The earlier you realize this, the better for you. The reason is that you’ll be confronted with several challenges along your path. Amidst these, your testimony must remain consistent with what God has said. The Bible says, And being not weak in faith, he (Abraham) considered not his own body now dead, when he was about an hundred years old, neither yet the deadness of Sarah’s womb. He staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving glory to God (Romans 4:19-20). People laughed at and made mockery of Abraham, yet, he kept testifying that God has made him the father of many nations and his wife, Sarah, mother of princes. At the end, his tongue-work produced for him a son just as the Lord had said. Moreover, the Bible says, And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives ...

BE THE BEST FOR HIM

I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvelous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well (Psalms 139:14).  The verse above describes the peculiarity and uniqueness of every child of God. You’re the Father’s pride; a creation of wonder. God has deposited so much within your spirit that makes you a peculiar treasure of inestimable value. In Genesis chapter 12:2 God said to Abraham, “And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing.” You’re the seed of Abraham now that you’re in Christ: “...if ye be Christ’s, then are ye Abraham’s seed” (Galatians 3:29). By virtue of being Abraham’s seed, not only are you blessed, you’re also a blessing. You carry the blessing with you and have become a dispenser of blessings everywhere you go. No wonder 1 Peter 2:9 declares: “But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the prais...

GOD’S CHOSEN BREED!

“But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvelous light”(1 Peter 2:9) The Bible describes those who are born again as a chosen breed; a chosen species; a new type of people – God’s dream people. This is what God longed for when He told the Jewish nation – if you obey my voice, I’ll make you a peculiar treasure, a peculiar people, a kingdom of priests, a holy nation (Exodus 19:5). Now, we are God’s dream fulfilled, and we didn’t have to sweat or struggle for it. We didn’t beg for it or do anything by ourselves to earn it; the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ conferred it on us. We got it by inheritance! In our opening scripture, when God described the new creation as a chosen generation, He meant that he belongs to a new generation of supermen with the divine genetic material! This means you have God’s DNA in you. No wonder the Bible says we ...
