BE CLOTHED WITH HUMILITY - PASTOR CHRIS OYAKHILOME

Likewise, ye younger, submit yourselves unto the elder. Yea, all of you be subject one to another, and be clothed with humility: for God resisteth the proud, and giveth grace to the humble (1 Peter 5:5). As you study God’s Word, you’ll discover the kind of life God wants you to live and how He wants you to live it. He sent Jesus to the world to be our perfect example. How did Jesus live? He was clothed with humility. The Bible says, “…he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross. WHEREFORE GOD ALSO HATH HIGHLY EXALTED HIM…” (Philippians 2:8-9). Notice the underlined phrase in the foregoing scripture; it shows that if you humble yourself, God will exalt you. There’s no need for you to keep trying or striving to exalt yourself; just be humble. True humility is submitting yourself to the authority, influence, and impact of God’s Word. True humility is receiving the Word into your heart and acting accordingly, making definite changes in your charac...

RECOGNIZE YOUR INHERITANCE TODAY!

The identity crisis is probably the greatest problem in the world today. It is the root of all wars, genocides, civil unrest and racial discrimination. Sadly many of God’s children are caught in the web of this crisis; they still don’t understand who they are in Christ, and until we are fully acquainted with our true personality in Christ, we can’t effectively impact our generation. We need to take out more time to study and meditate on God’s Word until its truths completely soak into our Spirits. Never base your understanding of the scriptures on another man’s assumptions; find out the truth by yourself from the Word. As you do, the Lord will impart wonderful revelations to your spirit, and you will better understand who you are in Him. According to the Scriptures, we have become sharers of God’s nature through the Word of God. This is not futuristic; it is in the ‘now.’ It is something that has already taken place. This is the greatest revelation the Church will ever have in thi...

THE MEASUREMENT OF A MAN’S STRENGTH

The worth of a man is measured by the greatness of his adversaries. You measure his importance by the power of the resistance he faces. The man that God uses will collide with powerful forces because the message in his mouth will be resisted. God’s confidence in man is measured by the kind of decisions he makes. He can dare you to make unpopular decisions or take steps that can stir the nest of others. But He will never ask you to do something stupid. If God tells you to do it, you will come out victorious at the end. There may be a lot of heat but if you are tough, you will be standing when the fire burns out! Jesus already said in His Word that we would be persecuted.  The prophets of old were seriously persecuted; the Apostles were stripped naked, flogged and stoned; some were even killed. But they rejoiced in all these because they made God’s Words and obedience to his voice top priority. The Lord Jesus was also rejected by His own. Therefore, as the Word says, be foll...

DON’T VACILLATE!

When you look at the past months in retrospect, can you convincingly say you did everything God told you to do at the beginning of the year? Whatever your answer might be, I want you to know that God loves you and He desires for you to make much more progress than you’ve had since the year began. He may have already started showing you the changes He wants you to make and the things He wants you to do in order to reach the place of your dreams by the end of the year. Therefore you must be prepared to follow through with the decisions you made because the adversary seeks to stop you from reaching the place of your dreams. The major issue with many people is inconsistency. They easily change with the tides. It’s a good thing to have good plans; it’s great to make Word-based decisions, but it is another thing to follow through with them. Those who don’t follow through with the right decisions, are as unwise as those who didn’t even make any decisions at all. You don’t get the results...

YOU’RE THE CROWN OF ALL GOD’S CREATURES

The Bible teaches, “ For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life” (John 3:16).  God gave us His best, because we’re His best. The value of something can only be determined by what was paid for it; God saved us with the precious blood of Christ: “Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers; But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot” (1 Peter 1:18-19). This scripture is a testimony of our value to God. James 1:18 says, “Of his own will begat he us with the word of truth, that we should be a kind of firstfruits of his creatures” God did this on His own accord; by His choice He made us the first and best! The Message Translation puts it this way, “He brought us to life using the true Word, showing us off as the crown of all his ...

THINK FRESH;THINK SUCCESS!

Part of the reason young people can be very successful, where older people fail, is that many young people don't know enough to be afraid. Most older people know too much; they have too much information about what doesn't work. They remember when they tried something and it failed, and so they become cynical. It's a lot harder to inspire such people to make a fresh move or have a fresh start. Understand that being old in this context isn't so much about a person's age, but about the state of his mind. Your body might age, but refuse to age in your mind. Think fresh; think success. God loves to use young people, because they think fresh all the time; they easily believe, and are always passionate about learning something new What will you be like when you're ninety-two? I can tell, if you put this message to work: You won't be crying that nothing works. Instead, you'll be the one teaching and imparting faith to the younger generation. You'll be ...

GREATER TRUTHS IN THE WORD

“And God made two great lights; the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night: he made the stars also” (Genesis 1:16) In the Scriptures, “light” represent “truth.” Thus, in the same way God made two physical lights (the sun and the moon), one being greater than the other, so also there are greater and lesser truths revealed to us in the Word of God. All the wonderful truths revealed to us in the gospel don’t rank equally; some are greater than others. Your desire should be to always function in the revelation of the greater truths. Divine healing, for example, is a truth and a blessing from God; it’s wonderful to know that there’s healing available to you no matter the nature of the sickness. But there’s a greater truth to that, and it’s the fact that you can live in divine health every day of your life; living in soundness – never needing to be healed! At no point in the Bible were we told Jesus needed healing for anything – He lived in divine ...
