Why did the Apostle Paul make such a bold statement in our opening verse? He says count yourself dead to sin, but alive to God. This is because in the mind of justice, when Jesus died, you died in Him. But something happened afterwards: God raised Jesus from the dead, and you were raised together with Him. That was what happened when you were born again; you were awakened to God; you came alive in the spirit.
