BE BOLD TO ACT YOUR FAITH

For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7). I’m always so inspired each time I study the accounts of certain characters in the Bible who displayed outstanding boldness and courage in the face of fierce oppositions. David, for one, as a young lad, fearlessly challenged and defeated Goliath, who according to the Bible terrified the whole of Israel, including Saul the king (1 Samuel 17:4-11). How come David was able to defeat Goliath? He certainly wasn’t the only one that knew about God’s covenant with Israel, but he was bold to act his faith, on the basis of that covenant. It’s not enough that you know and believe what God has said about you in His Word, you must consciously take action, on the basis of that knowledge! You must be bold to act your faith! Faith is action added to the Word of God that you have heard and believed. If there’s no action, then there’s no faith, for faith without corresponding action is d...

YOU’RE FAR ABOVE PRINCIPALITIES

And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it (Colossians 2:15). Paul’s letter to the Church at Ephesus in the sixth chapter of the book of Ephesians lets us in on the possibility of a structure of the devil and his demons. So he talks about the different orders of principalities: “For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places” (Ephesians 6:12). So there are principalities, powers, and rulers of the darkness of this world. Also, Paul refers to the highest cadre as wicked spirits in the heavenly places (Ephesians 6:12 AMP).  These set up their thrones and operate in the heavenly places; they control large dominions, rule over nations and regions. They also control the affairs of men who yield themselves to the devil. But as you study Ephesians 2:6, you observe that you’ve been raised to...

GIVE YOUR DREAMS POSITIVE INTERPRETATIONS

For thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; Let not your prophets and your diviners, that be in the midst of you, deceive you, neither hearken to your dreams which ye cause to be dreamed (Jeremiah 29:8). In certain Christian circles, many believe that eating in your dream is ominous; they associate it with the activities of demons but could there possibly be anything wrong with eating in your sleep? What’s the position of God’s Word on the subject? Let’s begin by reviewing Isaiah 29:7-8: “And the multitude of all the nations that fight against Ariel ... shall be as a dream of a night vision. It shall even be as when an hungry man dreameth, and, behold, he eateth; but he awaketh, and his soul is empty: or as when a thirsty man dreameth, and, behold, he drinketh; but he awaketh, and, behold, he is faint, and his soul hath appetite....” If a man eats in his dream and still wakes up hungry, it means he really didn’t eat anything. This therefore shows there’s nothing to eatin...

YOUR RIGHT TO DIVINE HEALTH

Sometimes, people testify about their health and say, “I really thank God for giving me health. Where would I have been if He hadn’t given me health?” They think God looks around from time to time and says to one, “I give you health,” and to another, “I seize your health.” That’s not the way God is, and that definitely isn’t the kind of God Jesus pictured for us. In Matthew 8:16, the Bible says Jesus healed all that were sick, revealing to us that it’s not the Father’s will for anyone to be sick. Acts 10:38 says, “How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him.” The oppression came from the devil, but it was the Father who anointed Jesus to heal all who had been oppressed. God gave you divine health because He loves you. He didn’t wait for anyone to pray for your sins to be forgiven before sending Jesus Christ to die for you; He sent Him because He loves you....

PRAYER WITHOUT DISTRACTION

#hspc #healingtothenations It's 24 hours to go! Register NOW for #HSPC @ http://goo.gl/rZnon9   Share, Share and Re-share.....  “Elijah went up to the top of Carmel; and he cast himself down upon the earth, and put his face between his knees” (1 Kings 18: 42 (KJV) One of the reasons some Christians don’t experience the manifestation of God’s glory in their lives as they should is that they often treat their time of fellowship with the Lord casually. Their minds being full of distractions are unable to concentrate and hear what God has to say! In James 5:16, the Bible says, “The earnest (heartfelt, continued) prayer of a righteous man make tremendous power available [dynamic in its working]’’ (James 5:16 AMP). The prayer is earnest and heartfelt, devoid of external influences or distractions. Prayer isn’t a time of religious monologue, where you just talk and talk, until your mind wanders away. It’s a time of fellowship where your spirit mingles with the Holy Spirit;...

THERE’RE HIGHER PURPOSES OF PRAYER - PASTOR CHRIS OYAKHILOME

#hspc #healingtothenations It's 2 days to go! Register NOW for #HSPC @ http://goo.gl/rZnon9  Share, Share and Re-share..... Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints (Ephesians 6:18). Our theme verse is quite profound. The Amplified translation makes it clearer; it says, “Pray at all times (on every occasion, in every season) in the Spirit, with all [manner of] prayer and entreaty….” Prayer is very important. Oftentimes, when we talk about prayer, what comes to people’s mind is asking God for things, making entreaties and requests; that’s all they’ve known about prayer. Yes, such a prayer has its place, where you make requests, but prayer has higher purposes than asking God for your needs . Praying for material needs, that is, asking God for something for yourself is actually the lowest kind of prayer. When you pray like that, you’re praying at the babyhood stage; it’s the pr...

YOU DON’T NEED AN INTERMEDIARY

“And in that day ye shall ask me nothing. Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall ask the Father in my name, he will give it you” (John 16:23) As a Christian, a proper understanding of your relationship with the Father is vital for your communication with Him through prayer. When you pray, you don’t need an intermediary between you and the Father. This means, praying through Jesus is wrong. Rather, the Bible says to pray in the Name of Jesus, this means you are standing in His place; you’ve become His voice! Also, as Christians, we don’t ask the Father to grant our requests for “Jesus’ sake,” for God wouldn’t answer your prayers for Jesus’ sake. He loves you as much as He loves Jesus (John 17:23). So when you pray to the Father in the Name of Jesus, it’s as though Jesus Himself were praying, because you stand in His stead. The Bible says in Philippians 2:9, that “…God also hath highly exalted him (Jesus), and given him a name which is above every name.” In other wor...

MAKE POWER AVAILABLE

“The earnest (heartfelt, continued) prayer of a righteous man makes tremendous power available [dynamic in its working]” James 5:16 AMP Have you ever carefully considered the fact that there’s enough power in you to turn any situation around in your favor? You can change anything because the divine power necessary to cause that change is already inside you; it was deposited in you the moment you received the Holy Spirit into your life: “But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you…” (Acts 1:8) The word “power” here, refers to the dynamic ability to cause changes. However, the presence of this power alone doesn’t guarantee its availability. “So how do I make power available?” You may ask. The answer is in James 5:16 AMP: “…The earnest (heartfelt, continued) prayer of a righteous man makes tremendous power available…” Jesus referred to this kind of prayer in Matthew 6:6. It’s done with so much passion and emotion, and for that reason you may have to s...

BUILD ON A FIRM FOUNDATION

In architecture, the higher you want to build a house, the deeper the foundation has to be. The great buildings we see all over the world, were not built in a hurry or carelessly. The Lord Jesus highlights this same principle in Matthew 7:24 -25, which states thus;“Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which buildeth his house upon a rock: and the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock.” The foundation of a man’s life, determines how successful he will be in life. This simple, yet powerful principle, underscores the importance of the right foundation for the structure you want to build. It is applicable to whatever you want to build in life; it may be your career, business, finances, family and relationships. The reason for the problem inherent in some people’s lives is the absence of a deep and firm foundation; and that is th...

GREATNESS IS IN YOUR SPIRIT

And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing (Genesis 12:2). From the scripture above, we notice that it was God who spoke to Abraham and said, “I will make you great”; it wasn’t Abraham who cried out, “O Lord, make me great!” It was God’s choice to make him great, and from that point on, the man did great things. He defeated five kings and their armies with three hundred servants trained in his house (Genesis 14). His wealth and influence outweighed those of the nations where he dwelt. He was a force to be reckoned with by kings of nations around him because of how great he was. The Bible says, “If ye be Christ’s, then are ye Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise” (Galatians 3:29). If you’re born again, you’re the seed of Abraham; the seed of greatness is in your spirit. Therefore, you ought to do great things. Great people do great things. When the seed of greatness is in a man, he’ll undoubted...

HIS VIRTUE IN OUR SPIRIT - PASTOR CHRIS OYAKHILOME

That is why I would remind you to stir up (re-kindle the embers of, fan the flame of, and keep burning) the [gracious] gift of God, [the inner fire] that is in you by means of the laying on of my hands [with those of the elders at your ordination] (2 Timothy 1:6 AMP). As Christians, we’re not ordinary. Jesus said, “…as my Father hath sent me, even so send I you” (John 20:21). He gave us power and authority to minister and be a blessing to our world. Paul said, “…we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us” (2 Corinthians 4:7). We can minister to the sick, the oppressed, and depressed and have virtue go out from us to them. God’s power in us is to flow from us to those in need of God’s touch in their lives. This is why you take out time to stir up the power of the Spirit in you again and again; get yourself filled with the Spirit always! Ephesians 5:18 says, “…keep on being filled with the Spirit” (ISV); it’s not a one-of...
