The Christian life is a life devoid of
struggles! The reason some Christians struggle and are weighed down by the
cares of this world is that they haven’t fully grasped the message of the
gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ.
It important to realize that Jesus completely
finished the work of redemption; opening to us the door to a life without
stress and worry. So He invited everyone, “If you are tired from carrying heavy
burdens, come to me and I will give you rest.” (Matthew 11:28 CEV).
Peter walked on water to meet Jesus because
he had faith in the Master’s Words. The moment he took his eyes off Jesus, he
saw the boisterous winds and raging waves and he began to sink. His struggle to
keep afloat was to no avail, and he began to drown despite his efforts. But
when he cried out to Jesus for help, the Master pulled him afloat. Are you
struggling in your life right now? Maybe you’re facing financial challenges.
Stop struggling! Jesus said “Come unto me, all ye that labor and are heavy
laden, and I will give you rest” (Matthew 11:28); find out what the Master has
done about your situation. 2 Corinthians 8:9 says “For ye know the grace of our
Lord Jesus Christ, that, though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor,
that ye through his poverty might be rich.” You are not the poor trying to get
rich, you’re the rich coming to the knowledge of your inheritance!
Refuse to drown in poverty or sickness, fix
your gaze on Jesus and continually work from a position of rest. Hebrews 4:10
says, “For he that is entered into his rest, he also hath ceased from his own
works, as God did from his.” Praise God!
