In the Book of Genesis, the Bible says God placed man in a garden that He made: The Garden of Eden. Eden means pleasure. Can you imagine that God put His first man in the garden of pleasure? From the very beginning, God determined that our lives should be full of pleasure.
Psalms 5:12 (AMP) says, “For You, Lord, will bless the [uncompromisingly] righteous [him who is upright and in right standing with You]; as with a shield You will surround him with goodwill (pleasure and favor).’’
David understood this when he said, “The lines are fallen unto me in pleasant places; yea, I have a goodly heritage” (Psalms 16:6). The Contemporary English Version puts it this way, “You make my life pleasant, and my future is bright.” What a confession! In the eleventh verse, he said, “…in thy presence is fullness of joy: at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore” (Psalms 16:11).
We were born right in God’s presence, where there’s fullness of joy, and we dwell with Christ at His right hand, where there’re endless pleasures.
