“For if by one man’s offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ” (Romans 5:17)
The word receive in the verse above is translated from the Greek word, “lambano,” which means to “take” or “catch” something as yours; to get hold of something; to seize it and make it yours.
Abundance of grace, on the other hand, means overflowing grace; unlimited overflowing grace. This means it’s up to you to take as much grace as you want.
This is what the Apostle Paul meant when he told Timothy “…Be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus” (2 Timothy 2:1). That means take advantage of the grace. Don’t take a little of it; ‘lambano’ as much as you require.
Receive grace for your reign in life. To reign is to exercise control, influence and authority. It means to rule and be in charge; in essence, live as a king.
This overflowing grace only works for those who receive it. It’s your set time to reign, so, take advantage of the grace of God that has been lavishly poured out upon all men (Titus 2:11); it’s yours for the taking! Hallelujah!
