The Bible says, “Therefore if any man be in
Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things
are become new” (2 Corinthians 5:17). Having been born again by
the Word and Spirit of God, you’re not the same person that was born of your
parents. Therefore, no matter the curses that may have been invoked on you, or
that you may have inherited from your forbears, they’re of no effect, because
you’re now a new creation in Christ! Thus, you’ve been separated into a new
family – God’s family – where you’re blessed forever: “Who hath
delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated [us] into the
kingdom of his dear Son” (Colossians 1:13).
You’ve been called to inherit a blessing: “Not
rendering evil for evil, or railing for railing: but contrariwise blessing;
knowing that ye are thereunto called, that ye should inherit a blessing” (1
Peter 3:9). Curses have no power over you, for the Bible says “Surely
there is no enchantment against Jacob, neither is there any divination against
Israel” (Numbers 23:23). However, believing this is not enough; you’ve
got to act on the Word by proclaiming that you’re now separated unto blessings,
and not curses, having been born again.
Romans 10:10 says, “with the mouth confession is
made unto salvation.” Therefore, to enjoy the life of blessings to
which you’ve been called in Christ Jesus, you must keep declaring that you’re
the blessed of the Lord, and no curse can have any impact on you. Ephesians 1:3
says “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who
hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ.” Make
this your confession today, and always.
