For if by one man's offence death
reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift
of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ (Romans 5:17).
John 1:17 says, "For the law
was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ." Jesus
Christ didn't come with the law; He came with grace, and brought us
righteousness as a gift. Righteousness is the expression of the will and nature
of the Father. He declared us righteous, because we're new creations in Him. 2
Corinthians 5:21 says, "For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no
sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him."
Romans 4:25 lets us know that He
(Jesus) "...was delivered for our offences, and was raised again for our
justification." Thus, He's our acquitter. When you heard the Gospel and
believed, declaring Jesus Christ to be the Lord of your life, you became the
recipient of His grace and righteousness. You weren't justified before God
because of your own righteousness; no! You stand in Christ's righteousness;
it's the result of what Jesus did.
Jesus came, not only to reveal,
demonstrate, and manifest the righteousness of God (the will and nature of the
Father), but also to make us the righteousness of God. He's given you that
nature, ability, authority, and ministry, to carry on what He began both to do
and teach.
He's endowed you with the gift and
ability to reveal and manifest the will, purpose and character of your heavenly
Father. What a life! No wonder He calls you an associate of the God-kind:
"Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by
these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption
that is in the world through lust" (2 Peter 1:4). Meditate on this truth;
think on what it means and live accordingly.
PRAYER
Blessed Lord Jesus, thank you for
revealing to me the nature of the Father, and making me the expression and
manifestation of the Father's glory, nature, love, beauty, and grace! Your will
and good pleasures are expressed through me today, and forever! Blessed be God!
