“What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may
abound? God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?” (Romans 6:1-2)
As
one who is born again, you no longer have a problem with sin. This is because
according to the Bible the old nature of sin has been replaced with a nature of
righteousness. Christians who still struggle with sin do so as a result of an
identity crisis; they are yet to understand from the God’s Word, who they
really are.
The
new creation in Christ is dead to sin (Romans 6:2). Being dead to sin simply
means, sin has no power over you. Romans 6:14 says, “For sin shall not have dominion
over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace.”
Your
understanding of the righteousness of God liberates you from sin consciousness.
The Lord Jesus has given us victory over sin, death and the grave! If you ever
find you did something wrong, don’t cry, or feel condemned. Rather get on your
knees before God; ask Him to forgive you and then receive forgiveness and say
to yourself: “I know who I am; I am the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus! I am
dead to sin, but alive to God! I walk in righteousness every day!” Praise God!
If you’re not yet
born again, all you have to do is believe in Him and confess Him as your Lord
to receive eternal life into your spirit, and become a brand new creature in
Christ, so that God’s beauty and power can be seen in you.
