“Therefore if any person is [ingrafted] in Christ (the Messiah) he is a new creation (a new creature altogether); the old [previous moral and spiritual condition] has passed away. Behold, the fresh and new has come” (2 Corinthians 5:17 AMP).
The Greek rendering of the phrase “passed away” in the scripture above means “gone out of existence.” So as a new creation you’re a brand new man; not one who was merely forgiven his trespasses. The Bible says, “…we are buried with him (Christ) by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life” (Romans 6:4).
Realize that you didn’t merely turn over a new leaf when you were born again; you were recreated as a new species. You may still look the same way you did before you received Christ; as a matter of fact, your physical appearance remains the same; but your spirit is new! It’s a brand new life; that’s why the Bible says “all things have become new!”
Sickness, poverty, failure and death are not a part of the new life in Christ. Such things as ancestral curses and generational sicknesses ceased to be a part of your life because you were severed from your earthly affinity when you were born again.
If you’re not yet born again, all you have to do is believe in Jesus Christ and confess him as Lord to receive eternal life into your spirit, and become a brand new creature in Christ, so that God’s beauty and power can be seen in you.
