“If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness” (1 John 1:9)
Jesus is the propitiation and appeasement for our sins. The Bible says in 1 John 2:1-2, “My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous: And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world.” The Blood of Jesus is the remedy for every sin; there’s no sin that can’t be cleansed by the blood of Jesus. So as a Christian, if you’ve done anything wrong, God’s not mad at you; what He expects is that you take advantage of the provision He’s made for the forgiveness of your sin.
Forgiveness of sins is an aspect of our inheritance as God’s children, therefore be quick to take advantage of it. Christians have the right to receive forgiveness for sins, but this doesn’t apply to the unconverted, as what they need is remission of sins.
“Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need” (Hebrews 4:16). You don’t have to live in the condemnation of the devil when you do wrong. All you need is to receive forgiveness and obtain mercy from the Lord.
