RHAPSODY OF REALITIES DAILY DEVOTIONAL. DON'T ASSUME YOU KNOW - PASTOR CHRIS OYAKHILOME TUESDAY 19TH APRIL, 2016
Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that
needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth (2 Timothy 2:15).
As you grow in Christ, one important decision you must make
is to continually increase your knowledge of the Word. Be passionate to know
the Lord more through careful and diligent study of the Scriptures. Give more
attention to the Word of God; digest it into your spirit; meditate on it. Never
assume that you already know enough of the Word.
There are people who just believe they've known the Word
enough; they've become so familiar with the Word, and think they know
everything in the Scriptures. Such people only realize the paucity of the Word
in their spirit in the hour of crisis; that's when they find themselves acting
in fear and anxiety. That's proof that the Word was really not inside them.
Colossians 3:16 says, Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly..., not
scarcely.
Abide in knowledge. The more you study the Word, the more
you discover who Christ is, His character and nature, and also, the more you
discover who you are in Him. And as you study, He manifests Himself to you in
increasing glory. Our opening verse says, Study to shew thyself approved unto
God. In other words, study to be successful; study to be updated, and increase
your knowledge.
The Bible says through knowledge shall the just be delivered
(not only out of trouble), but into their inheritance (Proverbs 11:9). Christ
has brought us freedom from defeat and freedom from sin; He's given us the
ability to decide the kind of life we want to live. He's brought us liberty; He
said, And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free (John
8:32).
When you get to know the Word of God, you become free in the
area of the truth that you know. So, continually fuel your appetite for the
Word of God. Meditate on the Scriptures day and night, and you'll be like a
tree planted by the rivers of water, fruitful, productive, and prospering
exceedingly in all that you do.
PRAYER
Dear Father, I thank you for giving me your Word, a material to build my life with, and usher myself into higher levels of glory, promotions, victories and success. As I meditate on the Word, your wisdom exudes from me, and your grace causes me to be fruitful and productive in all things, and function excellently, in Jesus Name. Amen.

HOSEA 6:3
Then shall we know, if we follow on to know the LORD: his going forth is prepared as the morning; and he shall come unto us as the rain, as the latter and former rain unto the earth.
