“No soldier when in service gets entangled in
the enterprises of [civilian] life; his aim is to satisfy and please the one
who enlisted him” (2 Timothy 2:5 AMP).
We’re soldiers for Christ and we
can’t involve ourselves in civilian affairs and please God at the same time. We
must stand as soldiers upon this earth doing our Father’s job. As long as
you do your Father’s job, you will be happy. But when you don’t, there will be
a lack of warmth and joy in your life. It doesn’t matter how
rich you are, or how many friends you have, you can never really be happy
except you do the job of your Father; and that’s bringing God’s Word alive to
people around you, touching them with the Word of God and winning souls
into His Kingdom. It’s high time we got uncomfortable ignoring sinners around
us and coming to church to warm our pews. Let’s reach them with the
gospel; let’s reach them with the life of God in us! It’s time we got excited
and went about our Father’s business! You must make up your mind today,
tell yourself, “I’m going to do my Father’s job and do it well.” Don’t go about
it sloppily. The Bible tells us in Romans 12:11 not to be slothful in business,
but fervent in spirit; serving the Lord. Be hardworking; determine in your
heart that you’re going to achieve great things for the Lord. There are things
God has spoken to you about that He wants you to do. This is your
opportunity to do them. The time is now, there will be no better time!
