“I have fought a good fight, I have finished
my course, I have kept the faith (2 Corinthians 4:7).
Paul looked back at his life and he
confidently asserted to Timothy, “I have fought a good fight”. In one of his
letters, he wrote concerning himself “of the Jews five times received I forty
stripes save one. Thrice was I beaten with rods, once was I stoned, thrice I
suffered shipwreck…” (2 Corinthians 11:24-25).
He had been through so much that tried his faith, but he was able to testify that his faith prevailed. You don’t have to wait until the end of your life to be able say, “I have fought a good fight.” At every level and stage of your life, you can know that you have fought a good fight of faith.
Remember that this fight isn’t a fight
against the devil, but a fight of faith. Have you fought a good fight in your
school or at your new job? Has your faith triumphed over every negative
situation that you are facing now? If you’re not sure, it’s never too late to
start; unleash your faith and when you are through with that level, you too
will say, “I have fought a good fight!”
